AMY SOLOMON–The Sweet Life

Hello Everyone!–Summer is over, and with it, happy memories which I hope will sustain us during the cold winter months.  I hope your summer was as enjoyable as mine was.  We vacationed on a Viking cruise to Nice and Provence where we met some wonderful new friends, visited a Beaujolais winery and a lavender field, and feasted on French onion soup and chocolates.  In August, we travelled with dear friends to Atlantic City and then for a stay in a relaxing B&B in Cape May.  In between these trips, we enjoyed breakfasts and walking along the Jersey Shore, and best of all, spent needed time with family.  After being locked indoors during the pandemic, it seems as if everyone was eager for release. I wish for all of us good health in the years ahead.  This fall, I will be on sabbatical from Middlesex College, working on academic and creative projects.  As this year comes to an end, I will have two very exciting announcements to tell you about.  Meanwhile, please tune in to my next podcast episode on EXTRAordinary People, featuring Amy Solomon who is living her version of the “sweet life,” beginning LABOR DAY, September 5, at shirleywachtel.com and streaming.

AMY SOLOMON was working in the television industry for 10 years before changing careers and decided to make life a little “sweeter.” Together with her mother, she started Just One Bite, a cookie company specializing in bite size gourmet cookies and pies. Her cookies and pookies (pie+cookie = pookie) are handmade, using the finest ingredients and are just the right size so that you can pop them in your mouth. Their goal is to make someone’s day a little brighter through their delicious baked treats.  They are based in the northern New Jersey area and ship nationwide.

Till next time–

Shirley
